iPod and EQ

Published by ksanders under iTunes, Main Page

I had read some information about using EQ on the iPod a while
back.  I knew that if you had set a particular EQ for a single
song in iTunes, the iPod would then use that EQ setting when playing
the song.  However, I was under the assumption that this worked
when you had EQ set as None on the iPod.

That turns out to not be the case.  You have to set the iPod to
the Flat EQ setting and then it will play the song using the EQ setting
that you gave it in iTunes.  If you have the iPod set to EQ=None,
then it will not use any EQ settings for any songs.

Microsoft feeling the pinch?

Published by ksanders under Apple, Main Page

It seems that Microsoft may be feeling the pinch of Linux and Apple Mac
OS X as of late.  They announced a new advertisement campaign to
do a hard push of Windows XP.  Uhh… isn't that stuff 3 years old
now?  I guess that is about all they can do since they keep
pushing their OS releases back.

Fast-forwarding a song in iTunes

Published by ksanders under iTunes, Main Page

I finally figured out how to fast-forward through or back up in a song
when using iTunes tonight.  Just click and hold the Next button to
fast-forward through the song or podcast.  To back up in the audio
file, click and hold the Previous button.

Power Mac G5 cooling

Published by ksanders under Apple, Main Page

I have been making decisions on what Power Mac system to buy based on
erroneous information.  For the past week, I was under the
impression that all Apple Power Mac G5 systems used the liquid cooling
system to control heat.  I have now learned that this is not the
case.  Apparently, only the dual 2.5 GHz Power Mac G5 systems use
the liquid cooling system due to excess heat.  That is good news
for those of us who do not want to ruin our carpets.  Uhhh…
yea… my carpet.  I don't have to worry about ruining this
crap.

Hidden Gems

Published by ksanders under Main Page

Apple has released Mac OS X Update 10.3.9 today.  Among its enhancements, and apparently hidden
deep inside the release is Safari 1.3.  This new version of the
Mac web browser contains security, javascript, and CSS
enhancements.  Reports have it that this is the fastest version of
Safari ever released… up to 35% faster at loading pages than version
1.2.

I hate my PC!

Published by ksanders under Main Page

I really do hate my PC now!  I did a drag and drop action with a
folder full of all the pictures that I have ever taken with my digital
camera for my wife's cake business tonight.  I dropped it on the
target directory, but when I click on the directory where the cake
photos are stored, it says access is denied.

I did used the Windows disk check utility to see if it might fix any
issues, but that did not do the trick.  Unfortunately, it looks
like these puppies are in the old bit bucket in the sky.

I think I am going to purchase that new Mac sooner than I thought.
