Mac related podcast

Published by ksanders under Apple, Main Page

If you are thinking about switching to the Mac platform, you should
check out the last podcast from the two young guys at Mr. Mac
Geek.  I have been hanging around all the forums for Mac users for
the past two weeks trying to find out everything that I could.  I
listened to their podcast a couple of nights ago and I learned a couple
of things that I had not found on the forums.  Check out their
blog at Mr. Mac Geek where you can get the link for their podcast or download the latest MP3 audio file the podcast.

Have a PC keyboard? Use it with your Mac!

Published by ksanders under Software, Main Page

I have problems with carpel tunnel, so I use Microsoft Natural
keyboards with my Windows machines.  Unfortunately, I have not
been able to find anything good to use with the Power Mac when it gets
here.  I know that you can use the PC keyboards with the Mac, but
Alt and Windows keys are in the wrong order to be used as the Option
and Command keys.

Well, this is where DoubleCommand
comes in.  It is an OS X kernel extension which allows you to use
your PC keyboard with your Mac by swapping the order of the Alt and
Windows keys to properly produce the correct key codes so it will
properly be seen by OS X as the proper keys.

DoubleCommand does have other features beyond this, but this one will
be a nice feature for all who are interested in using their favorite PC
keyboard when they make the big switch!
